UNLV - University of Nevada, Las Vegas (map)
Hey everyone,
This is one of my favorite events of the year! Come join us with Team Penn & Teller for the annual AFAN Aids walk in Las Vegas.
1. RSVP on the Meet Up site and register directly with the AFAN AIDS walk by CLICKING HERE and joining Penn and Teller's team. Joining their team makes you eligible for tickets to their show, etc.
2. This is a charity event and the primary purpose is to raise funds for AFAN, which supports our local community. You can just make a small donation yourself, or raise funds from friends and family. Depending on how much you raise, you can qualify for great perks. Here is a list of what you can earn.
3. The AFAN site makes it easy for you to create e-mail blasts and a personal web page which will help you communicate with your friends and family about donating. Be sure to use all the tools you can.
4. The walk begins at 10:30 am on Satuday, April 15th. However, you will want to get there early to register and check out the wide variety of groups and venders. I will get there around 8:00 am.
5. Also, Penn and Teller match everything that we donate!
Good luck! Let's make this a big success and raise some funds for a worthy cause in our own community. Make sure to add your AFAN donation link next to your name on this page, so other members know how to donate to your page.
I know they lost the Ivy League title to Harvard this year. :)
Are we donning any kind of t-shirt or color or patch or something to identify as LV Atheists or Team Penn & Teller? Or is it just "come as you are"?
With a $50 donation or collection of donations you get a free t-shirt.
Hmmm... I guess I could make some Atheist Stickers. Let me see what I can come up with.
For those of you doing the walk, put a link to your donate page under your RSVP so other members on this site can see where to donate to you. :)
I got the flu yesterday, worse today, cannot go. Couldn't find a contact number and am thus not sure if my donation still goes through. Just in case donated to you guys who posted your donation pages. Good luck dudes.
Celeste - I broke my toe last year and didn't end up walking, but all the $ that was donated on line still went to AFAN.
Love Teller, hate Penn!
